Top pick: #1 ((Entry: 1-PUGET SOUND & 1-TALLY STICK) (7-2) - Strong Darley Stable entry and trainer Kiaran McLaughlin has separate riders listed on both halves. "Puget" has had trouble at the break in his last pair, but still rallied to finish third here at this tag on the dirt March 21st. Race was his first since Dec. 6 and he's worked since and moves to the grass. "Tally" makes his U.S. debut after showing little in a pair racing in England last fall. Working nicely and Mclaughlin adds lasix this afternoon.
2nd pick: #4 (Cross Gate) (3-1) - Speedy sort runs first off a Linda Rice claim (20%) and she moves him to the grass and stretches him out around two turns, both for the first time.
3rd pick: #2 (Unprecedented) (6-1) - 6-year-old gelding was far back of "Puget" last out, but is much more competitive when racing on the grass. He has a speed/stalking atyle, draws the ground saving hedge, and must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #3 (Catch the Blues) (5-1) - He was away slowly when debuting at Gulfstream at this tag and trip on March 16th, but improved his position late and was only beaten 3 1/2 lengths. An alert start makes him a win candidate.
