Brown has won with 51 of 170 second-time starters in 2018-19, at a 27% clip on the dirt to grass move, and is at 33% on the stretch out angle. Lots to like.
2nd pick: #9 (Eagerly) (7-2) - A home bred son of 'Americak Pharoah', colt moves back to the grass after tiring badly on a sloppy surface at this distance Oct. 27 at Belmont in an 'of the turf' contest. He had finished second and third in his previous pair on the grass and is a win candidate from the Pletcher barn.
3rd pick: #4 (Plan of Attack) (12-1) - He had some serious trafic issues debuting at this level and distance Sept. 21at Belmont. A son of 'War Front' he was only a bit over a length in back of 'Eagerly' that afternoon and has worked five times since Oct 11 for Jimmy Jerkens, 22% 2nd time out.
4th pick: #7 (Kinenos) (8-1) - He split 'Eagerly' and 'Plan of Attack' when debuting at Belmont Sept. 21. Trainer Brad Cox, 22% second time out, has breezed this $225K purchase a half-dozen times since Oct. 12 and son of 'Empire Maker' must be left in the mix.
