Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #8 (WEATHER WIZ) (4-1) - Son of 'Tiznow' is cutting back to a one-turn mile after finishing second at this level going 9 furlongs at this level racing on a sloppy track at Belmont. He's worked fast since, draws well, and I like his speed/stalking style.
2nd pick: #5 (Hammerin Aamer) (10-1) - Very consistent speed/stalker has run well in two straight at this level going 8.5 furlongs. He's racing third back from a pair of layoffs, is working fast, and has been competitive in all four previous races at Aqueduct. Think he has a shot at a big price.
3rd pick: #2 (J S Bach) (8-1) - On the sidelines since Aug. 18 at Saratoga, he won a 7-furlong contest for a $50,000 claiming price that afternoon. Stalker likes it Aqueduct 5-2-3-0 and this mile trip is his favorite 9-4-0-5. 6yo can factor if ready off the nearly three-month layoff.
4th pick: #3 (Plainsman) (7-2) - He was only a length behind 'Weather Biz' Sept. 1 at Saratoga, then was an easy winner going 8.5 furlongs in a first-level allowance Sept. 27 at Belmont. Expensive ($350,000) 3yo by 'Flatter'is clearly improving and must be left in the mix.
