Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #5 (HERE COMES TOMMY) (4-1) - 'Tommy' is shortening up in distance after finish 3rd here on the main track going a mile Dec 5. Race had a very strong field and he lines up against easier in this 6-furlong contest. Stretch runner should get a fast/and or contested pace to rally into. Gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #3 (Watch the Tie) (10-1) - Speedy and lightly raced, he had no chance last out after being 'bumped' and 'sandwiched' at the break. He's worked fast since, is the speed nearest the rail, and is a win candidate.
3rd pick: #4 (Secured Position) (9-2) - Gelding is another that's lightly raced and is still improving. Stalker is racing 3rd back off almost a 4-month layoff and finished 2nd here at this level Dec 16. Must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #6 (El Quadro) (15-1) - Finger Lakes invader went 5-3-2-0 there after coming off almost a year's layoff July 14. He's fine on off tracks 8-1-4-1 and had a sharp work at Belmont Park Jan 1. Can compete with these at a big price.
