Top pick: #4 (VINNIE VAN GO) - Had no chance last out after breaking poorly from an outside post. He did well to rally late to finish third under the circumstances. Goes much better today at a square price.
2nd pick: #7 (Scorch the Torch) - Well-bet in his debut last fall, he broke well, was up near the pace, but was intimidated a bit around the far turn and finished a close-up fifth. Freshened-up since, he's working steadily for a barn (Mike Hernandez) who rarely asks them for much in the mornings.
3rd pick: #9 (Midnight Player) - Debuts today for a barn (Kiaran McLaughlin) that wins at a 24% rate first time out. Latest work on January 4, is impressive. Looks ready.
4th pick: #2 (Magical Devotion) - Nice debut saw him chase the pace of the wire-to-wire winner and stay on well for the place. Finished well in front of the top pick that day and has worked well since. Player.
