Top pick: #5 (SISTER LOU ANN) - Improving and lightly-raced home bred from the successful Ken & Sarah Ramsey operation. Tried a stakes at Finger Lakes in her debut, then showed major improvement in start number two on the main track here. Much better speed noted that day, and she's working well for a sharp trainer (Charlton Baker) as he sends her a distance. The choice at a square price.
2nd pick: #1 (American Land) - Part of a Gary Contessa-trained entry. Strong effort last out in her first back off a two-month break and she'll be sent long off of it. Must overcome the outside draw.
3rd pick: #9 (Taxadame) - Blinkers will go on as filly stretches-out off a return sprint on Dec. 6. I'm a little concerned with the absence of work activity since that run, and she's best used "underneath" the top pair, as they're more likely to win this.
4th pick: #4 (Olde Glamour) - Wide around both turns in her "route" debut, she held down the fourth spot with an even stretch run. Improving in small increments, she could impact the exotics at a big price.
