Top pick: #2 (BLUE BULLET) - Veteran sprinter finished 4th despite some traffic issues on Jan. 24, his first race in three months. He had a poor year in '08, but all of those races were against much tougher. He fits well with this group, and should offer his best second off the layoff.
2nd pick: #5 (Little Nick) - He held some promise at one time, and today he'll make his first start since last May, and his first for trainer Bruce Levine. Trainer won a race Sunday with another returnee of this length. Working well, and he has plenty of speed if ready.
3rd pick: #3 (Volos) - Well-bred and lightly raced, he was impressive on Jan. 23 in picking-up his second lifetime win vs $20,000 foes. He's worked well since and his trainer (Steve Asmussen) shows confidence by moving him up in price for his first try at this 3l level.
