Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #5 (MONTE MAN) (7-2) - He's moving up in class in his first following a Gary Contessa claim. Competitive in three of his last four, in his sub par effort Jan. 6 he stumbled at he break facing much tougher. New trainer ads blinkers and this 4-year-old gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #6 (Lucky Town) (8-1) - Longshot is dropping in class and moving back in with fellow New York breds in his second back from almost a 10 week break. His success has been on the grass facing tougher, but believe he's a win candidate today at this reduced level.
3rd pick: #7 (Guardian) (10-1) - Lightly-raced and fast from the gate, he hasn't raced since March 17 of 2016. He broke his maiden here that day going wire-to-wire at this distance. Working steadily and he's dangerous if ready.
4th pick: #3 (Watch the Tie) (5-1) - Speedy sort tired late to finish fourth here facing a bit tougher Jan. 28. It was his first back off a series of layoffs and trainer Gary Gullo has him making back-to-back starts for the first time since last winter.
