Top pick: #5 (COST AFFECTIVE) (2-1) - One of two entered by trainer Tom Albertrani, and the pair race uncoupled. Colt has been freshened up since Nov. 9th when he rallied to finish third at this level going seven-furlongs. Training steadily since, that latest was a career best, and son of "Officer" looks all set.
2nd pick: #3 (Surfspun) (3-1) - He has the best early speed of this group, and has been freshened up since tiring at Belmont on Sept. 27th in his first start since Feb. 23rd. Working fast, and colt by "Hard Spun" is a strong win candidate.
3rd pick: #4 (Street Prince) (8-1) - Sold privately this fall, he runs second back off a 2 1/2 month break, and finished fourth here the other day. He has some speed, is well-bred, and can grab a share at a nice price.
4th pick: #8 (Frame ) (7-2) - The second of the Albertrani pair, Darley runner cost $220K, and has shown a bit in both starts to be considered dangerous. Son of "Street Sense" will have lasix added, is training above average, and should factor against this crew.
