He was pinched at the start that afternoon and forced into a wide trip. Along with the added distance, trainer Rudy Rodriguez has John Velazquez aboard for this attempt.
2nd pick: #10 (My Boy Tate) (4-1) - Freshened up since Feb. 11, he missed by a 'nose' that day in a strong effort going 8.5 furlongs. Competitive in both starts, he draws a nice outside post at this one-turn mile and is a win candidate.
3rd pick: #8 (Blame the Chief) (12-1) - Longshot was never involved in a sprint at Gulfstream March 18. However, it was his first race since Nov. 27 when he finished 2nd here at this level. Colt is capable of getting a piece of this at a big price.
4th pick: #6 (One Mo Chance) (7-2) - $250,000 son of 'Uncle Mo' raced both wide and evenly when debuting Feb. 18 in a six-furlong sprint. It was a useful effort, and trainer Linda Rice (a strong 39% second time out) sends him longer (34%).
