Top pick: #7 (VICKI'S DANCER) (7-2) - Veteran mare hasn't won this year 7-0-2-2 but stalker has been stakes placed several times. Freshened up since early October trainer Rudy Rodriguez adds blinkers and has her working nicely. She gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #2 (Uncle Southern) (5-1) - One of two entered by trainer Linda Rice and the pair race uncoupled. Speedy sort won a small stakes at Saratoga on Aug 21st but raced poorly at Finger Lakes next out. Freshened up since Oct 4th her early speed makes her dangerous.
3rd pick: #5 (Champagne Ruby) (6-1) - The second of the Rice runners she's won two stakes and this past April finished 2nd here in a $100K contest going 6.5-furlongs. Stalker fits with this group and must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #1 (Skye Saratoga) (9-2) - Lightly raced and well bred she won an allowance sprinting on the Belmont turf Oct 10. A career best, it came in her 2nd off a 7-month layoff and filly broke her maiden here 12 1/2 months ago in impressive fashion.
5th pick: #10 (Storied Lady) (5-1) - One paced type will be shortening up in distance, gets blinkers added, draws a nice outside post, and has Castellano back aboard after a one race absence. The faster the pace, the better her chances.
