Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #9 (WINTER WISH) (8-5) - Lightly raced mare is taking a big drop in class in this spot. 5yo was an impressive maiden winner July 30 at Saratoga for a $25K tag and was claimed that afternoon by John Parisella. The veteran trainer sent her in for an eight-week break, and she ran evenly in her return start at Belmont Sept. 23rd facing state bred allowance foes. She's working steadily for this, drops under the claimed price, and draws a fine outside post for this distance. Barn has been very 'hot' at this meet (8-4-1-3), and she's spotted perfectly.
2nd pick: #6 (Pocketfullofgreen) (4-1) - 3yo makes her first start on the East Coast after going 6-1-0-1 on the tough So. California circuit. Stalker has a pair of half-mile works since arriving, and she has a new trainer, Danny Gargan (19% with new arrivals).
3rd pick: #3 (Kitty Ride) (12-1) - Very lightly raced, speed is her game. 4yo chased and tired badly at Belmont facing tougher in a grass sprint Oct. 24th. It was her first race since May 4, and she probably needed the start. Trainer Jim Ryerson moves her back to the dirt and drops her into a career soft spot.
4th pick: #4 (Gabby's Brown) (8-1) - Daughter of 'Big Brown' is another dropping down in class. She finished 4th here facing tougher Nov. 9th and had traffic issues at the break. Filly was then forced five-wide turning for home. A threat at a square price.
