Top pick: #5 (SKY PAINTER) (5-2) - Lightly-raced filly was probably best last out when she rallied to finish third of 11, beaten two lengths racing at this level and distance at Belmont on Sept. 20. Darley home bred by "Sky Mesa" had some traffic issues and when clear she was seven-wide down the stretch. Can take this with a clean trip.
2nd pick: #9 (Hope Cross) (3-1) - Another that's lightly-raced and she also has more early speed than most. Very consistent 5-1-4-0 and she finished second last out at this level going 7-furlongs at Belmont. That was her first facing winners and a career best overall. A strong win candidate.
3rd pick: #6 (Morning Star) (10-1) - Speed/stalker has won three in a row, the latest pair coming on the grass. Filly has gone 3-2-1-0 at this trip on the turf and in her current form must be left in the mix despite a rise in class.
4th pick: #7 (Chrysolite) (8-1) - Strong finisher drops off a less than perfect trip at Belmont Oct. 18th in a $200K stakes for fellow New York breds. Fits with her best and she would benefit if the pace was fast and/or contested.
