Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #7 (POWERSTROKE) (7-2) - Nice effort last out by this well bred gelding. Racing at this level and distance at Belmont Oct. 12 he set the pace and held gamely to check in second of 10, beaten 2.5 lengths. It was a nice move forward off his dirt debut and he received solid betting support. Broman home bred has worked twice since and runs with blinkers off. Gets a slight edge.
nd pick: #8 (Causeforcelebration) (6-1) - He's stretching out in distance following a very wide trip at this level going 7 furlongs at Belmont Oct. 18. He was beaten 11 lengths, but the winner scored by 8.5, so he wasn't far off the place spot. Colt had finished a close up third in a grass sprint Sept. 23 and should like this longer distance.
rd pick: #10 (Rockin Jo) (5-1) - Colt has good early speed and races with blinkers on. He pressed a fast pace last out before tiring to finish only a length behind 'Causeforcelebration'. He should be involved most of the way and can factor if he does a bit better during the stretch run.
th pick: #3 (Cantakeitanymore) (6-1) - Colt tired while wide when debuting at this distance Oct. 1 at Belmont. He faced $75,000 'open' maiden claimers that day and is in with fellow New York breds in this spot. Dangerous at a square price.
th pick: #6 (Diamond Setter) (8-1) - Blinkers go on colt who has raced evenly in both starts. No-speed type is stretching out in distance and he should enjoy the added real estate. Stretch threat.
