His rider made a pair of crucial errors from the 3/8th's pole to the wire. He has a different jockey, and although this field is tougher, he should get his maiden win.
2nd pick: #10 (Cadeyrn) (5-2) - Colt by 'Malibu Moon' was a 'head' in front of 'Big Gillette' last out on Dec. 13th. He hasn't raced since, but is working above average, and has enough early speed to not let this outside post hurt his chances.
3rd pick: #1 (Time Will Tell) (8-1) - Longshot rallied to finish 2nd to a 11-length winner when debuting here going six furlongs Dec. 19th. He's stretching out in distance, has the rail, and a pair of very quick recent works.
4th pick: #11 (My Man Sam) (5-1) - Colt stretches out after a 'troubled' debut in a local sprint Dec. 19th. He lost all chance when he was 'bumped' heavily at the break. Trainer Chad Brown (25% second time out) stretches him out (31%). The post is a killer if he doesn't break alertly.
5th pick: #6 (Safe Passage) (6-1) - $375K son of 'Congrats' rallied while wide to finish 3rd, 3.5 lengths back of 'Big Gillette' on Jan. 3rd. He's worked fast twice since and can factor if he doesn't fall too far behind.
