Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #3 (SOUTHERN UNION) (3-1) - He's had a lot of chances, but I like the fact that he's stretching out for this attempt. Stalker tries hard every time and it's a plus that Irad Ortiz Jr. is staying with him.
2nd pick: #2 (Mr Charles) (5-2) - The morning line favorite, he rallied to finish second here at this level and distance Jan. 5. It was his third competitive effort in a row and he's from a capable Philly Park based barn (Ed Allard). He trained the champion filly 'Mom's Command' many years ago. An obvious threat.
3rd pick: #4 (Hangry) (7-2) - Gelding has raced evenly in all three starts since coming off a nine month layoff in late November. He was four lengths behind 'Mr. Charles' last out but he did stumble at the start. Stretch threat.
4th pick: #7 (No Tanx Blue Chip) (4-1) - One of two entered by trainer Bruce Levine and the pair race uncoupled. He has races in his past that make him a threat, but his recent form is poor. At this stage I believe a minor award is his ceiling.
