Top pick: #2 (TALKING BLUES) - Gelding broke his maiden last out at this distance racing for $12,500 in his first start for trainer Bruce Brown. He's hinted at ability in the past and it was nice to see him get the maiden win out of the way. Can run well again, and at a nice price.
2nd pick: #5 (The Mayor) - Speed/stalker stretches-out again today off a pair of sprints that saw him race evenly. Trainer (Dave Jacobson) continues to send out "live" runners and his new "go-to" rider (Dave Cohen) is aboard.
3rd pick: #7 (Telemachus) - Drops and runs first back off a Dec. 1 layoff. Speed/stalker is in a very dangerous barn (Scott Volk) and one that does excellent work off of layoffs (29%). Win candidate may go favored in this spot.
