Top pick: #4 (MAURA'S PASS) (6-1) - Well bred filly broke her maiden here at this distance on Dec. 3rd and did so in gate-to-wire fashion. Daughter of "War Pass" doesn't need the lead to win, and it's nice to see a solid barn (Jay Servis) have her entered where he can't lose her. 3yo still has room for upside and has a shot at "juicy" odds.
2nd pick: #2 (Wraith) (8-5) - The probable favorite, stretch out stalker has finished second in five of her last six sprinting, and all have been at this level. An obvious win candidate at a short price.
3rd pick: #5 (Traipse in Utopia) (8-1) - Speedy state bred set a quick and pressured pace before tiring badly last out facing fellow New York bred entry-level allowance foes. In shape, and she really doesn't necessarily need the early lead to be competitive.
4th pick: #1 (Until There Was You) (6-1) - Speed/stalker draws the rail and is racing off a re-claim by trainer Gary Contessa. She's stretching out after a pair of solid efforts going 6-furlongs against 25K 2l foes, and those two races had some hard-hitters in them.
