Top pick: #6 (SURFSPUN) (5-2) - Colt by "Hard Spun" ships from the Fair Grounds where he finished third in a grass sprint facing special weights. Four-year-old has early speed and trainer Jeremiah Englehart will drop him into a claimer for the first time and moves him back to the dirt.

2nd pick: #3 (Seldom Seen Slim) (2-1) - Very dangerous California invader is another of a large group of horses privately purchased there by trainer Dave Jacobson earlier this year. Nicely bred 3-year-old raced evenly in his latest and is a strong win candidate for Jacobson (26% winning rate with new arrivals).

3rd pick: #7 (Beau Who) (4-1) - He hasn't raced since last June and will be running on conventional dirt for the first time. Working well, he has some talent, and his new trainer (Bruce Brown) will drop him into a claimer for the first time. A major threat if ready.

4th pick: #2 (Love's Dreams) (6-1) - Bar (Michelle Nevin) has been "hot" lately and she stretches this lightly-raced gelding out in distance. Three-year-old by "Giant's Causeway" raced both wide and evenly when debuting at 6-furlongs on March 10th, and today it's apprentice Mejias off and Irad Ortiz Jr. on.
