Top pick: #4 (COLONEL JUANITA) (8-5) - Consistent filly rallied to win at this distance for a $25K tag on March 1st. It was her first in two months and first off a Danny Gargan claim. She change barns again that day as she was taken by trainer Gary Gullo. New man drops her down to race for $16K but if she were to win this and be claimed for this lower price they would still turn a profit of almost $4000. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #5 (My Donna Jean) (4-1) - Strong finisher drops back down off an even effort in a $70K sprint stakes March 21st. She'd finished second to 'Colonel Juanita' in her previous start and veteran mare would love a fast/and or contested pace to develop.
3rd pick: #3 (Guayana) (5-2) - Mare has been freshened up since being pulled up in a Philadelphia Park starter-allowance Jan 13. It was her first back off a 7-week break and has been on the sidelines for almost four months since her Philly Park start. Working well and she fits at this tag & trip.
4th pick: #2 (Da Wildcat Girl) (8-1) - Filly exits the same March 21 stakes as 'My Donna Jean' and she had a poor start and her jockey lost an iron at that point. Race was her first off an Abby Adsit claim and is best viewed as a toss. Stretch runner is one of three entered who has won on the Aqueduct main track in the past.
