Top pick: #7 (ALEANDER) (4-5) - Son of the recently deceased 'Smart Strike' takes a big drop in class and is shortening back up in distance. He was never involved following an awkward break going a mile facing special weights Feb 26. He had been competitive in four straight prior to that and last year's training champ Dave Jacobson has him in a career soft spot. Much the horse to beat.
2nd pick: #5 (Moonsilver) (5-1) - He's another dropping back down and is racing with blinkers on. Grey gelding has nibbled at this tag in the past and is capable with his best of completing the exacta.
3rd pick: #6 (Officer Mahaffy) (10-1) - He raced very poorly going a mile facing a bit tougher March 1st. Thought he received a weak ride that afternoon and trainer Rich Metvier replaces apprentice Navarro with Taylor Rice.
4th pick: #4 (Yes I'm True) (15-1) - He's had a lot of chances and believe the best he can do here is hit the bottom of the tri and/or superfecta.
