Top pick: #5 (LITTLE GABBY GIRL) - She finished third at this trip on the inner-surface last out and it came with blinkers on and lasix added, both for the first time. Home-bred meets a weak field and can take this with a bit more improvement.
2nd pick: #6 (D. Frost) (5-1) - One of a pair of debuting fillies, home-bred has been in steady training at Belmont since Dec. and worked four times during the month of March. A fine half-mile gate breeze on Mar. 22 indicates she has some speed.
3rd pick: #8 (My Golden Girl) (7-2) - The other debuting filly is in a barn (Jim Bond) that rarely has its runners ready first out, but there are exceptions to every rule. The drills are steady, she meets a weak field for the level, and draws a nice outside post at this "flat" mile trip.
4th pick: #2 (Bonita Sonata) (4-1) - Her form has shown a steady regression since last fall and trainer Bill Badgett Jr. will drop her into a claimer for only the second time in her career. Working fine, she stretches out to a mile in her third back from a three month break and finished second the only other time she raced "tagged."
