Gelding missed by a 'neck' in his previous race on the infield there Sept. 29 and gets the edge.
2nd pick: #1 (Colfear) (9-2) - Colt finished a solid third at this level and distance on the Belmont grass Sept. 29. He was only 2.5 lengths behind 'Piazza Del Campo' that day and is a stretch threat in this spot.
3rd pick: #4 (Menacing Warrior) (7-2) - He enters off the best race of his career. Colt rallied strongly to miss by a 1/2 length at odds of 46-1 going seven furlongs on the Belmont turf Oct. 30. He'd shown nothing prior to that, but it makes him a contender if repeatable.
4th pick: #11 (Samurai Warrior) (8-1) - From the same barn (Rudy Rodriguez) as 'Colfear' and the pair race uncoupled. Debuting colt has been in steady training since mid-August and has Castellano aboard. Would like him a bit more if he had a better post.
