Premium Pick

Top pick: #4 (HARDLY) (3-1) - Daughter of "Hard Spun" raced evenly while wide after a troubled break when debuting at Belmont on Oct. 11th. She's worked twice since for trainer Mark Hennig (who is having a career year), and can take this with just a bit of improvement.

2nd pick: #8 (Jazil's Dream) (5-2) - The probable favorite, daughter of "Belmont" stakes winner "Jazil" has finished second in her last pair, the latest coming at Belmont at this level and distance Oct. 27th. Win candidate, and I came close to making her the top choice.

3rd pick: #5 (Seeking Her Glory) (5-1) - Filly from the Pletcher barn has early speed, and exits the same last race as "Dream." She chased the pace, bid into the stretch, and weakened late to check in 1 1/2 lengths back of that rival. In the mix today.

4th pick: #1 (Rachel's Temper) (8-1) - She's improved since switching to the grass, has the inside advantage, and enough early speed to stay within range before trying a late rally.

5th pick: #2 (Crashing Conclave) (20-1) - One of two entered by trainer Leroy Jolley, Jr., and she showed some life last out at Belmont. Well-bred, and she can grab a share at a big price.
