Top pick: #9 (HARPOON) (5-2) - He's finished in both starts at this level going shorter and trainer Todd Pletcher will stretch him out to a mile for the first time. Bred for the distance, $500K son of "Tiznow" draws a nice outside post at this one-turn mile and is the horse to beat.
2nd pick: #4 (Souper Lucky) (3-1) - The field's most experienced maiden, son of "Giant's Causeway" has early speed, has been competitive in his last three starts and should be involved from start-to-finish.
3rd pick: #5 (Smarty Burns) (8-1) - Son of "Smart Strike" cost $900K and raced evenly in his debut at Belmont going 6-furlongs on Oct. 12. Lasix is added by trainer Bill Mott and believe this colt is a threat at a square price.
4th pick: #1a (Patty and Nooche) (6-1) - Gelding has early speed and has checked in third in both sprint appearances. Another trying a mile for the first time and he can impact with a bit of improvement.
