Gelding finished second at this level going six furlongs Oct. 15 at Belmont. It was his first off the barn change and first with Lasix administered. Can win this win a small step forward.
2nd pick: #9 (That Makes Sense) (7-2) - Well bred gelding is racing first off a claim by owner/trainer Dave Jacobson (a 19% winning angle). Strong finisher should get a fast and/or contested pace to rally into and is a win candidate.
3rd pick: #7 (Virga) (6-1) - Lightly-raced and well bred, he's dropping in class and moves from grass to dirt. He has good turf form going short, but unlike Belmont, Aqueduct doesn't run turf sprints. Can factor if he handles the main track.
4th pick: #2 (Made of Steel) (6-1) - He did not break cleanly last out and had to rally from off the pace. He was just under a length in back of 'Zartax' and can impact today with a better beginning.
5th pick: #1 (Watch the Tie) (15-1) - Longshot is racing off another layoff and is dropping to a new low in class. He had some promise a year ago, but has not been the same horse in 2016. He has the rail, and along with the drop he's racing with blinkers removed.
