Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #6 (LEZENDARY) (3-1) - On the sidelines since Aug. 20, she finished a sharp pace-chasing third when debuting that afternoon at Saratoga. She had some serious traffic issues that day and was only beaten 3 1/2 lengths racing at this level and distance. Trainer Rudy Rodriguez was 2-for-2 here yesterday and this is where he stables most of his large barn.
2nd pick: #11 (Barrier Island) (5-2) - Phipps home bred rallied from off the pace to miss by a 'head' when debuting at this level going 6.5 furlongs at Belmont Park Sept. 17. Daughter of 'Speightstown' has a pair of sharp works heading into this and is a win candidate.
3rd pick: #8 (Twofer) (8-1) - Filly moves from turf to the dirt and shortens back up in distance. She's shown a bit of ability in both starts and $290,000 daughter of 'Super Saver' and factor at a big price.
4th pick: #4 (Courageous Queen) (5-1) - One of seven fillies making their debuts, Repole home bred is from the barn of Todd Pletcher (22% first time out). She enters of a very quick half-mile gate breeze at Belmont Oct. 28 and should be competitive in her first public appearance.
