Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #1 (SOMES SOUND) (8-5) - A $375,000 son of 'Ghostzapper,' he set a fast pace before tiring late to finish 2nd at this level going 6.5 furlongs Sept. 25 at Belmont. It was his first in blinkers, he has the rail, and is shortening up a 1/2-furlong. Lots to like.
2nd pick: #6 (Long Term Thinking) (5-2) - Son of 'Quality Road' won his debut sprinting at Monmouth Aug. 10, but was disqualified and placed 2nd. Favored next out Sept. 22 at Philadelphia Park, he rallied late from between horses to miss by a 'neck.' This $175K purchase is from the barn of Chad Brown, and he's adding blinkers (26%). A win candidate.
3rd pick: #2 (Up and Onward) (6-1) - This colt has had problems at the break in both starts. A $600,000 son of 'Tapit,' he rallied to finish 4th at this level and distance Aug. 31 at Saratoga. Freshened up since, he worked here three times during October and could grab a share with a better beginning.
4th pick: #3 (Fabulous Fun) (8-1) - Lasix is added to this Phipps home bred by 'Distorted Humor,' who is making his first start since tiring debuting at Saratoga on Aug. 4 of 2018. Colt received betting support that day, has a solid local work tab, and Jose Ortiz is aboard.
