Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #3 (GUARDIAN) (7-2) - Speedy colt tired badly here facing tougher going 8.5-furlongs Feb 6. It was his first since Dec 12 and may have been used as a condition race by trainer Bill Mott. He's dropping him into a claimer for the first time and is shortening him up in distance.
2nd pick: #6 (John Eddie) (3-1) - Gelding raced both wide and evenly following a very troubled break when debuting here facing tougher Feb 20. Smallish barn (Mike Mareina) brings him back in under a month and drops him in class. He's worked fast since and gets a big rider upgrade to Kendrick Carmouche. Win candidate.
3rd pick: #5 (Danger Lurks) (3-1) - Improving colt set the pace here at this level and distance in the mud Feb 25 and held gamely to miss by a 1/2 length. It was his best effort so far and he must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #7 (Our Ben's Brush) (8-1) - One of four making their debuts, longshot had a sharp half-mile gate breeze at Belmont Park Feb 28. He need not be anything special to factor against this group.
