Daughter of 'Super Saver' was sent in for a two-month break by trainer Carlos Martin, and she's returned a better horse. Racing here at this level and distance Jan. 31st, filly rallied following a poor break to finish 2nd of 12, beaten just over a length. It was her first in blinkers and a career best. The top pick.
2nd pick: #4 (Nick's Funnybone) (7-2) - Speedy filly has set the pace in both starts before weakening in the final furlong. She has a new trainer (Bruce Levine), and Jose Ortiz is back on the re-ride.
3rd pick: #5 (Hottie Potati) (5-2) - Home bred by 'Big Brown' is moving up in class after finishing a pace-setting 2nd here facing $40K state bred claimers Jan. 29th. It was a solid effort, and it earned her the highest last out 'figure' of those that have raced. It's noted that Irad Ortiz, Jr. is aboard for the first time.
4th pick: #6 (Urbanity) (4-1) - One of two debuting fillies, she's by 'Bernardini' out of a mare by 'Giant's Causeway.' Working steadily, her latest drill was a sharp half-mile gate move at Belmont March 5.
