Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #1 (MALIBU SQUEEZE) (5-1) - Home bred by 'Malibu Moon' stretches out in distance for his second attempt and does so with lasix administered. She finished a wide third in her debut here at this level going six furlongs Dec. 17. Trainer Dave Cannizzo wins at a 19% rate second time out and this filly has a ground saving post.
nd pick: #7 (Verdant Pastures) (10-1) - Longshot has sharp early speed and is another trying a two turn trip for the first time. Trainer Charlie Baker removes her blinkers and filly gets an aggressive rider change to Tony Gallardo. Dangerous at a big price if she gets an easy lead.
rd pick: #10 (No Hayne No Gayne) (5-2) - The morning line favorite, she's raced evenly in her first pair sprinting. Trainer Steve Asmussen stretches her out (15%) and has Jose Ortiz aboard for the first time.
th pick: #6 (Cetara) (15-1) - From the same barn (Charlie Baker) as 'Verdant Pastures,' the pair race uncoupled. Well bred filly showed some talent first out, then had no chance in her latest when following a poor break. Longshot should like this longer distance.
th pick: #4 (Scarlett Jo Hansen) (12-1) - Daughter of 'Hansen' sold for $100K last April as a 2-year-old in training. Working steadily, trainer Michelle Nevin had a first-time starter run a big race at this distance last week.
