Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #7 (SHOW PRINCE) (5-2) - This speedy gelding was very sharp at this level in his first two sprints, but tired last out to finish a distant 4th going a mile here Nov. 10. That field was a strong one, and this home-bred is cutting back in distance while entering off a big bullet half-mile breeze Dec. 10 at Belmont Park.
2nd pick: #5 (Hushion) (4-1) - Named after the retired Mike Hushion, he was one of the most under-rated trainers ever on this circuit. This gelding has been on the sidelines since July 14 when he finished a distant 4th in a $100K stakes at Belmont. Training steadily, he has Lasix administered, and has been given ample time to grow and mature.
3rd pick: #3 (London House) (7-2) - This colt sold for $110K this past May as a 2yo in training. He tired when debuting at this level and distance Aug. 8 at Saratoga, a contest where he was bt down to 5-2 in a 10-horse field. Four of his last five works are well above average, and his trainer, Steve Asmussen, wins at an 18% rate second time out, as well as 19% off of long layoffs.
4th pick: #1 (Wisecrack) (20-1) - This longshot has a bit of early speed, drops 9lbs, and he breaks from the rail. He's regressed since being claimed for $40,000 Oct. 18, but he may hold down a share at a big price.
