Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #6 (MOONDANCE) (2-1) - Lightly-raced filly by 'Malibu Moon' cost $800,000 and has been brought along slowly by trainer Kiaran McLaughlin. She enters off a second place finish at this level going 7 furlongs at Belmont on a sloppy surface Oct. 9. By far a career best, it was her first race since Nov. 13 of 2016. Stalker has a fine outside post and will be tough to beat.
2nd pick: #3 (Bayshore Babe) (8-1) - Longshot is moving from turf to dirt, is shortening up in distance, and has blinkers on. She tired last out after breaking from a tough outside post going a mile on the Belmont grass Sept. 29. Working steadily and think home bred will be competitive at a square price.
3rd pick: #1a (Sugarille) (3-1) - Four-year-old has been competitive in both starts since trainer Jim Bond switched her to the dirt and shortened this filly up in distance in late August at Saratoga. She was only 2 lengths in back of 'Moondance' last out and must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #2 (Spiral Bound) (4-1) - One of two fillies making their debuts, home bred by 'Hard Spun' is in a good barn (Linda Rice) and when riding jockey Irad Ortiz Jr. the pair wins at a 25% rate.
