They came following a John Toscano Jr claim and this hard-hitting gelding went 13-7-5-0 during 2018. The additional 1/2 furlong combined with his outside post are both positives and he gets top billing.
2nd pick: #5 (Dark N Cloudy) (7-2) - Very lightly raced grey colt missed by a 1/2 length here at this level going a mile on a muddy track in a contest that was taken 'off the turf' Nov. 25. He broke his maiden at this distance Oct. 3 at Belmont and is dangerous today as he shortens back up.
3rd pick: #6 (Joe's Smokin Gun) (10-1) - 'Joe' has won three dirt sprints in a row facing weaker since his connections switched him from grass to the main track. He won here at this distance for a $40K tag Dec. 23 and should factor at a square price despite facing tougher.
4th pick: #2 (American Gun) (2-1) - He's gone 8-3-1-2 during his career and all his starts have been in dirt sprints. Last out he was only a 1/2 length behind 'Missle Bomb' and must be left in the mix at a short price.
