Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #6 (BIG ENGINE) (7-5) - He's been freshened up since finishing second here at this level and distance Dec. 13. A very lightly raced 4yo, he has good early speed, is from a top barn (Jay Servis), and I give him a slight edge.
2nd pick: #7 (Light the Posse) (7-2) - This home bred has been idle since Oct. 3 when he raced evenly after a poor break going 6 furlongs at Belmont Park. He had rallied to finish second in his first pair during the summer and is a threat from off the pace.
3rd pick: #4 (Givehimthecigar) (6-1) - He tired here just six days ago facing 'open' special weight company in his first start since last March. This 5yo gelding has finished second in all three starts on wet tracks and it's noted that leading rider Manny Franco is aboard on the quick turnaround.
4th pick: #1 (Killala Bay) (10-1) - A nicely bred colt, son of 'Mineshaft' is cutting back in distance after finishing a distant third here going 9 furlongs Jan. 19. That should help any conditioning issues out, but he needs to do much better down the stretch.
