Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #4 (ALPHA TEAM) (2-1) - Well bred colt cost $400,000 as a 2-year-old in training back in March of 2015 so there were lofty expectations. He showed some ability early in his career but was injured last winter at Gulfstream and was claimed by owner/trainer Dave Jacobson for $40K in early October. One run type finished 3rd here Nov 22 and gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #7 (Polar City) (8-5) - The morning line and probable favorite, he finished a pace-setting second here Nov. 22 and was almost two lengths in front of 'Alpha Team'. Gelding has a fine outside post and is a very strong win candidate at a short price.
3rd pick: #3 (Mr Sultana) (4-1) - From the same barn (Linda Rice) as 'Polar City', he raced wide before weakening to finish behind both 'Polar City' and 'Alpha Team' here Nov. 22. Home bred is making back-to-back starts for the first time and is capable of getting a share.
4th pick: #1 (Champagne Papi) (6-1) - 'Papi' has no early speed and is dropping in class while switching from turf to dirt. He should be making up some ground late and would benefit if the pace were fast and/or contested.
