Top pick: #6 (GRANDPA LEN) (8-5) - The probable favorite, "Len" is dropping back down in class after tiring in his last pair facing tougher. Grey gelding finished second at Saratoga on Aug. 28, racing at this tag and a repeat of that can beat these.
2nd pick: #2 (Q Two) (7-2) - Lightly-raced colt by "Quiet American" is another that's dropping down and it's the first time at this tag. He has early speed and trainer J.P. Terranova III is adding blinkers and Irad Ortiz Jr., both for the first time.
3rd pick: #7 (Seldom Seen Slim) (6-1) - Trainer Gary Gullo has had a career year and comes off a strong meet at Belmont Park. He sends out this well bred gelding who broke his maiden at this mile trip on July 25th at Monmouth Park. He's tired in his last pair, but fits with these and his early speed and outside post at this "flat" mile are a plus.
4th pick: #5 (Born in Brooklyn) (9-2) - No-speed type is dropping to a new low and moving back to the dirt after five straight starts on the grass. His turf figures fit and he should be closing strongly down the stretch. A fast and/or contested pace would help his chances out.
