Top pick: #1 (JUSTCALLMETONI) - She raced evenly and was only beaten 4 lengths sprinting on the Belmont turf for a $50K tag Oct. 25. Race was her first since June 14th and trainer Wesley Ward brings her back in three weeks, drops her to a new low, and stretches her out in distance. Daughter of "Exchange Rate" has the rail and is the horse to beat.
2nd pick: #3 (Bacheliere) - Beautifully-bred filly showed little when debuting in a special weight contest in the Belmont slop Oct. 19, a race that was originally scheduled for the grass. Trainer Todd Pletcher (34% second-time out) drops her into a claimer and this daughter of "Include" is bred to love the grass.
3rd pick: #11 (Melody Lin) - Nice debut at Belmont Sept. 13 saw her rally to finish 4th of 8, beaten four lengths going a mile on the grass for a $65K tag. Trainer George Weaver (14% second time out) drops her down in price and has her working steadily.
4th pick: #9 (Samsonian) - Home-bred has taken some in each of her three appearances and showed good early speed in a grass sprint at Belmont on Sept. 14. Freshened up since then veteran trainer "Ned" Allard has an agressive jockey (Junior Alvarado) aboard for today's return to action.
