Top pick: #6 (THAT'S GIN) (6-5) - The probable favorite, grey gelding hasn't raced since Nov. 15 when he set a pressured pace and was beaten a 1/2 length racing at this tag and trip. He's working on a regular basis for his return and trainer Mike Hishion is having a strong meet.
2nd pick: #1 (El Bagre) (6-1) - Price play has some early speed and breaks just off the rail. He had an improved effort last out and can be involved here from start to finish at a square price.
3rd pick: #7 (Got a Hunch) (5-2) - He was only a 1/2 length back of "Gin" on Nov. 15 and has been competitive in two of three since then. Gelding draws a trouble free outside post and has enough early speed to avoid a wide trip.
4th pick: #3 (This Ones for Nina) (8-1) - Successful barn (Dave Jacobson) rarely deals with first time starters and this one has a journeyman rider who I'm not familiar with. However, the field is weak and the trainer must always be respected.
