Top pick: #2 (POP OF COLOR) (8-5) - Filly ships up from Florida where she set a quick pace and tired late to finish second at this level when debuting on Oct. 23rd. Working fast for this attempt, she has a new trainer (Tom Morley) for her NYRA debut.
2nd pick: #7 (Skidmore) (4-1) - Home bred has been competitive in four of her six starts and finished fourth here at this level and distance Dec. 13th. She had a tough outside post that day and was forced to chase while very wide. She draws much better today, and I almost made her the top choice.
3rd pick: #6 (Garzoni) (6-1) - Filly was bred to be a much better horse than she's shown in her four appearances. Daughter of "Bernardini" is going from turf to dirt, shortening up in distance, and gets blinkers added.
4th pick: #3 (Rice and Beans) (20-1) - Long time maiden is not a win candidate, but could get a small award at a big price if one of the top three selections is sub par.
