Top pick: #1 (RANGEY) (5-2) - Grey gelding has gone (6-14-1) since shipping to New York from Gulfstream last spring and missed by a nose when last in action at Belmont Sept. 27. Race was at this level and distane and trainer John Parisella has him working nicely for his first off the two month break.
2nd pick: #7 (Mr. Algebra) (3-1) - Strong finisher ran third when racing for $25K on the Belmont lawn on Oct. 18 and was claimed by Nick Canani. He raced evenly after a poor start when facing state-bred allowance-foes in his first for the new barn and is dropped under the purchase price today.
3rd pick: #4 (American Buffalo) (7-2) - Lightly raced, he showed a lot of talent and promise laste in 2011, but hasn't been the same horse since returning from an eight month layoff on Sept. 23. He has some early speed, fits with this group, and is in the mix.
