Top pick: #6 (ELUSIVE TALMO) (5-2) - Gelding was well backed when debuting at this level going 6-furlongs March 7. He recovered from a bumping incident at the break to chase the pace while wide and held his ground gamely to finish fourth of 12, beaten just under two lengths. Trainer Rich Schosberg has worked him three times since and stretches him out to a mile. Gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #4 (Sebonack) (2-1) - Colt chased and tired going a two-turn mile on the inner-surface here March 13. He's worked twice since, presumably with the blinkers on that trainer Todd Pletcher has him racing with for the first time.
3rd pick: #5 (Papa Shot) (7-2) - It's a plus that trainer Mike Hushion took this Schwartz home bred to Gulfstream for the winter. Colt by 'Distorted Humor' was never involved there making his debut on Feb. 7th. Training fast since shipping back north, Hushion wins at a 37% rate second time out and at a 29% clip when stretching maidens out in distance. Must be left in the 3-horse win mix.
