Top pick: #8 (SUSPICIOUS) (3-1) - Phipps Stable home-bred finished fourth of 12, beaten just under 6 lengths when debuting at Gulfstream, going 7 furlongs on March 9th. Nice effort from a barn (Shug McGaughey) that rarely wins first out. Son of "Dixie Union" is working well for this and is the horse to beat.
2nd pick: #3 (Midnight Taboo) (2-1) - Repole Stable colt rallied to finish second when debuting in a swiftly run sprint last Aug. at Saratoga and has been on the sidelines since. Trainer Todd Pletcher had him working regularly at Palm Meadows before heading here and this son of "Langfuhr" is a threat if ready.
3rd pick: #6 (Speechmaker) (5-1) - Colt tired after chasing the pace when debuting at Gulfstream at this "flat" mile trip on March 2nd. Colt by "Tiznow" had a bullet half-mile work at Payson Park on March 24th and the Mott barn is always better the second time out.
4th pick: #4 (Pentagram) (10-1) - Son of "Bernardini" cost the Darle people %700K as a yearling and to this point hasn't shown much in three starts in England. He runs for the first time since Oct. 14, has a new trainer (Tom Albertrani), and will run on real dirt with lasix added, both for the first time.
