Top pick: #1 (TRANSPARENT) (8-1) - Price play is part of a Kiaran Mclaughlin trained entry and it's likely both will go. $725K son of "Bernardini" is improving quickly at this point and was an impressive maiden winner here on Jan. 26. Working fine and he's loved the stretch-out in distance and the addition of blinkers.
nd pick: #8 (Elnaawi) (8-1) - Also trained by McLaughlin, but with different ownership, he races as a separte betting interest. He broke his maiden here on Jan. 12 and is working very fast for this big step up in class. Lasix is added and this $500K son of "Street Sense" has a shot at a big price.
rd pick: #11 (Overanalyze) (5-2) - The probable favorite, he's training well at Palm Meadows for his first since winning the "Remsen" (G2) in late Nov. He has a very tough post and will need to be at his very best off the layoff.
th pick: #7 (Vyjack) (3-1) - Undefeated (3-for-3) he was a "game" winner here on Jan. 5 of the "Jerome" (G2). Speedster has been freshened up since and is training fast for the Rodriguez barn.
th pick: #9 (Sky Captain) (8-1) - Gulfstream invader has talent and jockey Miguel Mena sees fit to make the long trip for the mount. Colt by "Sky Mesa" is a strong finisher and would love a fast/and or contested pace to develop.
