Top pick: #3 (GUGGENHEIM) (8-5) - This small field is loaded with beautifully bred maidens and this son of "Smart Strike" has been brought along slowly by "Zenyatta's" trainer John Shirreffs. He's been sharp in his last pair and rallied to check in third at this level and distance at Belmont Oct. 24 on a muddy surface. He's worked twice since and gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #4 (Coach Inge) (3-1) - Gelding by "Big Brown" is going turf to dirt, is working fast for this attempt and trainer Todd Pletcher has him making back-to-back starts for the first time. Win candidate.
3rd pick: #1 (Hollywood Idol) (5-1) - Another son of "Smart Strike" he cost $650,000 as a yearling during the fall of 2012. He raced evenly when debuting at Gulfstream on Dec. 19 of 2013 and hasn't seen live action since. Colt has a new trainer (Jimmy Jerkens 21% with new arrivals) and is working steadily for his return. He draws the rail and the inside was the place to be on yesterday's program.
