Top pick: #8 (SLASH FIVE) - Very speedy and lightly-raced gelding by "Indian Charlie" was awarded his maiden win last out after finishing second when the winner was found to have an illegal medication in his system after the blood samples came back. 3-year-old cost $325K as a 2-year-old in training in March of 2011 and is working fine for his first facing winners. He draws a nice outside post at this 7-furlong trip and is the horse to beat.
2nd pick: #3 (Reload) - Early in the summer he looked to be on his way to be a stakes runner but he regressed some and goes today off a two month freshening. Phipp's home-bred by "Hard Spun" is working fast for his return and he likes this distance (2-1-1-0). I almost made him the top pick.
3rd pick: #1 (Saturday's Charm) - He cost $240K as a 2-year-old and last out was an impressive maiden winner at Belmont on Sept. 21 when he scored at this distance in very fast time (1:22). In a great barn (Steve Asmussen) and Dominguez gets aboard for the first time.
