Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #2 (MY TOMMY BOY) (2-1) - He chased while wide on a sloppy surface Dec. 17th and held down the show spot while finishing evenly. It was his first race in 70 days and was a positive effort. Trainer Steve Klesaris brings him back quickly, and he breaks just off the rail. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #6 (Suckitupbuster) (5-2) - Speedy sort ran 2nd facing a bit tougher Oct. 31st in his first start since April 10. However, in his follow up race Nov. 27th, he was never involved while tiring badly during the stretch run. Barn drops him to a new low, and this 3yo by 'Freud' should be involved from start-to-finish.
3rd pick: #4 (Bad to the Roan) (8-1) - Longshot has multiple defeats at this level, but did run 2nd at it on Oct. 9th at Belmont Park. Freshened up since Oct. 29th, he gets some weight off and may hold down a share at a big price.
4th pick: #8 (Casa Gato) (15-1) - Home bred exits an even effort at this level and distance Dec. 9th. It was his first with Lasix added, and he was almost 10 lengths clear of 'Suckitupbuster.' However, his lack of speed and outside post mean he'll need some pace help for anything more than a small slice.
