He dueled through a blazing pace that day and still had enough in the tank to draw off easily. He stepped up in class and returned to New York on Feb 1 and proceeded to set the fastest quarter and half mile pace of any race on the card that day, leading to the final 1/16 of a mile before being caught by a winner who returned to finish 2nd in a stakes race last week.
