SUCCESSFUL AFFAIR showed ability last year, including an 11-length romp in his last start over this track. He didn’t race for 5 months before returning on Nov 26, and when he did come back it was as a new gelding. He showed little that day, but rebounded with a strong performance to finish a close 2nd at 12-1 on Dec 17. He ran even better Jan 26 and probably was best, but had to steady when trying to rally up the rail mid-stretch, then altered course to the outside and finished fast but too late. He was 11 lengths clear of the rest of the field & now has a better chance at a clean trip.
