South Florida went 6-0 at home but 0-6 on the road. They take a LONG road trip for this one to the Hawaii Bowl. QB Byrum Brown hasn't played since a September injury, and backup QB Bryce Archie has nine TDs and nine interceptions. The defense ranks 123rd in the nation in yards given up (460.8 per game). In their last road game, South Florida lost 35-28 at Rice as a 5.5-point favorite. They also have a 45-10 loss at Tulane as a +4 underdog. San Jose State head coach Ken Niumataolo is a native of Hawaii. San Jose lost twice to Top 25 teams while going 7-3 against everybody else. In the last four games, QB Walker Eget has thrown nine TDs and four picks with games throwing for 395, 446, and 385 yards. He threw for 385 yards in the last game, a 34-31 victory over Stanford. San Jose has a big-play threat in WR Justin Lockhart (973 yards) and the better defense. Back San Jose State on the moneyline.

South Florida at San Jose State
The Bulls won 11 games last season and I think they are in line to go undefeated this year, if everything goes right. Last year Temple and Houston were top teams, but both are going to take a dip this season. Houston is projected to win eight games, and Temple 6.5, a far cry from a year ago. This team is scary good offensively, behind Heisman Trophy candidate Quinton Flowers. Flowers passed for 2,800+ yards last year, with 24 TDs and just seven INTs, while also running for 1,530, and 18 more TDs. The Bulls offense was so good, they allowed 40+ to four teams and still won 11 games. Strong is a defensive minded coach, and has all five defensive lineman back, as well as the entire secondary. The defense should be much better. San Jose State finished at 4-8 last season, and had a very sluggish offense. It looks like Josh Love will step up as QB, but he was unimpressive a year ago, passing for just 392 yards two TDs and five INTs. The RBs are not much better, combining for 900 yards, and the OL allowed 50 sacks! This one is going to get ugly early, and the rout is on. Lay the points on South Florida.
